Thanksgiving Day
by Grace Hamilton
I walk in the door of a family members house.
I get greeted with hugs.
I smell the food.
I can tell it is going to be a great Thanksgiving.
When we finally sit down to the feast
I see my family smiling and laughing.
When the feast is over and the dishes are done,
I hear the guys watching
footaball and the others
having conversations or playing games.

Christmas Plans

Hi everyone,
Seems like the weekend of the 27th is the best bet..sorta....Dana and I were chatting the other day regarding all this planning and we have one more option....maybe we could opt to do Christmas at Bob Jr's.
Ernie has a wedding on Saturday so we could plan for our Christmas feast/celebration either on Friday evening (pending people can get Friday off) or maybe Saturday evening (depending upon where and when Ernie's wedding is), or Sunday evening?
Jim and Dana have offered to have the festivities at their new house. We wouldn't need to get any hotel rooms, but we would all need to stay at various locations.
Possible accommodations:
Bob Jr's:
1. Chris and Dave
2. Grandpa
3. Ger and Beth
Becky and Jason's:
1. Ernie, Luanne, Danny, and Tommy
Jim & Dana's:
1. Elaine, Steve, and Charlie
2. Lindsay & Sean
3. Alica, Todd, and Justin
4. Greg and Sara
We would also have Jim & Dana's trailer as well...
From Alicia: on our note, I think that Saturday or Sunday afternoon/Evening would work best for us. I am not sure if Todd will have the 26th off for us to travel, as they close the body shop for the whole next week - so we will have more flexible time on Monday vs. Friday. Not sure about Lins and Sean as they are the next big travelers.....Anybody have thoughts on this?

Looking Forward to the Holiday Season

Hi everyone,

Just trying to get a perspective on everyone's plans for the holidays....as our Hamilton family continues to grow, it becomes more difficult for the holiday season. I believe that everyone is scheduled our traditional Thanksgiving (Saturday after Turkey day, so this year it will fall on Nov 29th).

In planning for this, I have booked our family 4 hotel rooms..with the hopes of canceling them and finding room somewhere.....I looked into renting RV's for the weekend and it isn't that much less expensive than a hotel, and then you have to move them, etc....but, there is the positive side of not having to miss out on the family action in the morning and later int he evening...Does everyone want to do Thanksgiving at Grandpa's?

We hope to get Dad's other side rented out soon, so there isn't as much room as there used to be in Corvallis.

How about Christmas? And what days does everyone have off for Christmas? I assume we should choose either from Dec. 27th or the 3rd of Jan.

Hopefully you will all respond and we can get the ball rolling....

Alicia

Planning Ahead....

4th of July, 2009

Cape Perpetua

We have this Group site reserved for July 2 - 6

We have not been to the beach in a very long time, this should be a fun time.

Cape Perpetua Trail

Preview: From a sweet cove beach with blowholes and tide pools at either end to the steep, forested headland towering above, Cape Perpetua Scenic Area offers plenty of options to hikers of all ages and energy levels. These three are good starting points with children; check at the interpretive center here for information on longer hikes into the forest.

4th of July Activities

I have had some ask if we had scheduled activities. We do not but Grandpa has asked that Friday be a day that we spend with him and Carla. They will not be there on Saturday so he would like to hike and do some fun things that day.

And hello from SKorea!

What a great place indeed! The food is absolutely wonderful, the weather fine. The people are very helpful to us very American tourists. Thank goodness we have Sara to communicate as all the good Korean food is IN Korean. This is a huge city with 10.9 million people, so much color; more later. We're having a blast.
Love,
Beth
