PRESS RELEASE

The Klamath Community College Board of Trustees is happy to announce that they have reached a tentative agreement with Gerald Hamilton to serve as President of the College through June 2010.
The Board, along with a screening committee made up of community members and College faculty and staff members, reviewed applications from numerous well-qualified individuals from around the country. During this review, it became obvious that Gerald Hamilton, the current Klamath Community College Interim President, met all of the desired qualifications. Members of the Klamath Falls community were surveyed to determine their vision of the key attributes needed for the president of Klamath Community College. These attributes include:
knowledge of the Klamath Basin
knowledge of the day-to-day College operations
knowledge of curriculum
knowledge of financial issues
knowledge of local businesses
the ability to build and maintain the confidence and trust of the community, as well as College faculty and staff. The Board believes that Mr. Hamilton fulfills these attributes very well. It is very pleased that Mr. Hamilton has agreed to remain at Klamath Community College for the next two years.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ELAINE!

News from K. Falls

And Hello to Everyone!
Okay, we have snow............lots of snow.............more predicted. Snowed at least a foot yesterday. It is not melting between storms so we have three-four feet right on the ground! When you look down our street, Marsh Hawk, you so not any cars, only huge mounds of snow. Most mornings either Ger or I get up and shovel around 5am; then we shovel and use a broom to get it off the car as it will've snowed another four inches before we leave for work! In 1982 when Bob built our home up on Ponderosa Dr it snowed 95" before it was over, but this time, thus far, we have no breaks. Remember that winter, Bob?! All schools closed most of this week, even govt offices, colleges and most businesses. Ger sits here every morning, talking with KCC people trying to figure out whether to close down or not. Like today, it's closed, but he, of course, goes in for a while. The snow...ha ha ha...is so high on our deck in the back that my view does not exist when sitting on the sofa; it's above the railing!! Just heard on news that MicroSoft is attempting a take-over of Yahoo and Alexander Tutunov of SOU is bringing two Chinese pianists to Medford at the Craeterian; we're going!!! Other news that you have time to read; ha ha We are moving to N.Albany home during Spring Break. After that, we'll spend as many weekends there as possible. It is officially finished Feb 16. Knowing our builder, it WILL be on that exact date. ha ha ha This just in: Ger had to break ice cicles before he could get off the porch.
Love to You All,
Beth
